“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God; your playing small doesn’t serve the world.”
I’m so excited to create a space where people can connect and share stories and ideas about the true meaning of life and how to live our lives unburdened. As an individual who has silently and shamefully struggled with mental health concerns (undiagnosed for decades), eradicating the painful stigma associated with it is my passion.
For me, my blog is akin to that ridiculously squishy sofa that you want to sit on while catching up with your best friend. Or, it’s that little nook in the corner cafe where live jazz is playing on a small stage, the ambient lighting is just right, and you feel…free.
Wherever your cozy spot is, I’m sure you can relate to the necessity of having “Me-time” and that is where my authenticity shines brightest. Self-care and seeking support when needed, are right up there at the top of the list alongside serenity and peace. Some of my favorite activities that support these notions are reading a great book, journaling, meditating, trying out interesting recipes, playing in the backyard with my four dogs, and entertaining my grandson, Jaxon.
Writing is my “cozy spot” and it provides another outlet for me, one that feels organic and true and has been a passion of mine for a very long time. If I am able to create awareness and inspire just one person to view mental health in a more positive and compassionate light, then I will have accomplished my primary goal.
Thank you for joining me on this winding journey toward mental wellness and greater self-expression.
